2024 Alzheimer’s Walk & Run

It’s time to gear up and get ready for the Alzheimer Calgary Walk & Run supporting local individuals and families impacted by dementia.

For over 30 years this event has been a tradition for many Calgarians who want to increase awareness and honour their loved ones impacted by dementia. Last year alone, over 1,400 passionate people, families, and care partners impacted by dementia came together and raised over $350,000 for essential programs and services.

The annual event builds awareness, breaks down stigma, fosters a community of support for impacted families, and raises much-needed funds for local programs at Alzheimer Calgary.

You can join today and be part of the community taking strides for dementia together on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 13, 2024 by registering at alzheimerwalkrun.ca

About Alzheimer Calgary

Alzheimer Calgary has been supporting people with dementia, their families, and care partners for over 40 years. As a leader in our community, we strive to ensure they have access to high-quality education, care, and support throughout their journey.

For many families, a dementia diagnosis can be scary and overwhelming. It changes a family forever – stories of fear, stress, anxiety, and struggle are common amongst families facing a diagnosis. But so are stories of perseverance and hope.

In Calgary alone, over 20,000 people are living with dementia. Countless others in our community are navigating the journey alongside their loved ones. In the next decade, the number of dementia diagnoses is expected to double.

The need to arm our community with emerging, evidence-based information and local resources has never been greater.

As the largest fundraising event for Alzheimer Calgary, the 2024 Alzheimer Calgary Walk & Run will support programs and services right here in the city!
