Alberta Open Farm Days

Alberta Open Farms Days is an incubator for agri-tourism and rural sustainability. We bring Albertans together through educational and experiential agricultural-based initiatives to learn about where your food comes from. As well, some of Alberta’s most talented chefs and rural communities will be hosting a memorable series of farm to table culinary events that will be held around the province using Alberta farm products.

The Year of the Alpaca: Highlighting the Fibre industry, Alpacas, their value, and their presence in Alberta.

Open Farm Days being a Province-Wide, Free, Event: No matter where you are in the province, there will be a Farm for you to visit! Communicating the accessibility of this event is a top priority for us.

The Opportunity to Experience Farm Life: Few Albertans get to interact with animals, see where their food is grown, and escape urban life on a daily basis. Open Farm Days is an exciting opportunity to experience new things & make a few new furry friends while you are at it!

Supporting Local: Many of the Farms will have additional opportunities to support local businesses, including markets, carry-off sales, additional experiences like wagon-rides, and more.

Our Biggest Year Yet: This year, over 170 farms registered to take part in Alberta Open Farm Days, a new record!
