Step ‘n Stride is our annual walk for Parkinson’s, helping to raise much-needed funds and bring awareness for Parkinson’s Disease and Atypical Parkinsonism (formerly known as Parkinson Plus Syndromes). Many of us know someone who has been affected by Parkinson’s disease, a progressive neurological disorder that mainly affects parts of the brain controlling movement.
We walk at Step ‘n Stride to help raise awareness of Parkinson disease and Atypical Parkinsonism, which affects more than 1 in 500 people across Canada, and more than 15,000 Albertans.
Once again, this September, we will gather at South Glenmore Park – a picturesque oasis that captures the beauty of Calgary. Our Step ‘n Stride site is well treed and has a beautiful view of the Glenmore Reservoir.
This year’s Step ‘n Stride event begins with check-in at 9am. Enjoy coffee, snacks, activities for all ages, entertainment, prizes, and lunch, plus we all get to walk together to help raise awareness, and funds, for Parkinson Association of Alberta and our Parkinson’s community. This is an inclusive, accessible and all-ages event, please bring your family and friends, and even your dog!
Your registrations, donations, and fundraising efforts make a real difference in the Parkinson community. See you on September 6 for our 13th Annual Step ‘n Stride at South Glenmore Park!
