Country Thunder Alberta 2022

Country 105 is thrilled to present Country Thunder Alberta 2022 at Fort Calgary, August 19 – 21, with performances from MORGAN WALLEN, LEE BRICE, FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE, and more!

Days Of Thunder are upon us once again!

Country Thunder Alberta organizers delivered the good news to Southern Alberta fans with a stunning line-up this morning.

Country music’s hottest new superstar joins one of the biggest-selling duos in country music history for a one-two festival punch like no other. Add in showstopper, Lee Brice
and you’ve got a festival event for the ages!

“The city of Calgary has been incredibly supportive since we debuted in 2016,” says Country Thunder Music Festivals CEO, Troy Vollhoffer. “To be able to return with a line-up of this magnitude is all about delivering to some of the best and most loyal music fans anywhere in the world. “Live music has returned to Canada and we’re thrilled to be able to celebrate in Calgary in 2022!”

Every once in a while an artist comes along who transcends the country music genre and, in fact, changes the entire game. Morgan Wallen is that artist right now, for the immediate future, and well beyond. The numbers and the fan hysteria speak for itself. With over seven billion (yes, you read that number correctly) on-demand streams, numerous multi-market, multi-platinum certifications and four consecutive chart-toppers, Wallen’s widely-praised sophomore effort, Dangerous: The Double Album, reigned #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart for a whopping 10 consecutive weeks upon its release.

The blockbuster remained in the top 10 for 33 weeks, plus earned the biggest streaming week for a Country album in music history. It includes another record-breaking achievement with one of Time magazine’s Top 10 Songs of 2020, “7 Summers,” and “Wasted On You” – both debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and inside the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10, not to mention the 4x platinum Diplo collaboration, “Heartless,” and another platinum chart-topper, “More Than My Hometown.”

His limited Fall headlining gigs in the U.S. sold between 30 and 50,000 tickets per venue in minutes, causing pandemonium in each market. Wallen’s headline performance at Country Thunder Bristol has been called the “Country Music Event Of The Year” in America for 2021.

And the long-awaited return of FGL to Calgary will be a welcome one. In just over a decade, singer-songwriters Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley have amassed 13 No. 1 hit singles over five albums (four of which went straight to No. 1) and, literally, every music industry award imaginable (33 and counting). The streak continued with the 2021 release of Life Rolls On, and the hit singles “Long Live” and “I Love My Country.”

Hot on the heels of a pair of recent No. 1 hits, Lee Brice will also be welcomed with open arms for his first visit to Country Thunder Alberta. The runaway success of “One Of Them Girls” and “I Hope You’re Happy Now” (a duet with Carly Pearce) has only added to the excitement of this blockbuster weekend.

As if all that wasn’t enough, organizers also announced red-hot HARDY, the return of High Valley, Clay Walker, Alberta’s own hitmaker, Aaron Goodvin, as well as The Washboard Union (yes, we love the single “Country Thunder”!), Granger Smith ft. Earl Dibbles Jr., MacKenzie Porter, Laci Kaye Booth, Kameron Marlowe, and many more still to be announced!

Country Thunder Alberta 2022 is rolling in – see you all there!
