Theatre Calgary’s traditional Shakespeare by the Bow is being re-imagined and going on the road – it’s Shakespeare on the Go!
This year, they’ll be in a variety of Calgary locations for public shows throughout the entire month of August.
This summer there will be three casts of emerging artists travelling the city performing scenes (not the full play) from Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors in three different 45-minute outdoor shows. These fun and uplifting performances will be following “everything-out-of-the-bag” creative storytelling.
Since 2012, Theatre Calgary’s Shakespeare by the Bow program gives young emerging Alberta artists help making the transition from their training into the professional theatre by working with leading Canadian artistic, creative and production teams to bring Shakespeare to life. In keeping with the tradition of Shakespeare by the Bow, there will be no admission fees/tickets to attend one of our Shakespeare on the Go performances.
