Calgary police seek suspects in stabbing at Hotel Arts

Calgary police are searching for suspects after what they say was a “targeted attack” at a downtown hotel on Tuesday.

Officers were called to Hotel Arts in the 100 block of 12 Avenue Southwest just after 3 a.m. for reports of a fight in a hotel room.

Police said the victim was stabbed multiple times while inside the hotel.

He was rushed to the Foothills Medical Centre where he remains in critical but stable condition, according to police.

Hotel Arts said the incident was “isolated to the registered occupants of the guestroom and their guests,” adding that the safety of hotel guests was not impacted “in any respect.”

The hotel said it is playing a “supportive role” as police investigate, and has provided staff with a statement outlining the incident.
