Two Weeks #1 Morgan Wallen Whiskey Glasses on ACC with Kix Brooks

CISN Country 103.9 Edmonton and Country 105 Calgary air ACC with Kix Brooks Saturday’s 8am-Noon.

Morgan Wallen’s Whiskey Glasses is #1 for a second week on the Billboard Country Airplay chart followed by American Country Countdown.

“I’ve never been the type of person who’s good at getting my feelings out, so for me music is a way to do that.” “I just hope people get to know me and see my true colors.”

Whiskey Glasses is the third single from Morgan Wallen’s LP If I Know Me. Written by Ben Burgess and Kevin Kadish.

“Like a lot of people my age, I didn’t necessarily grow up listening to country music I grew up living it.” “The songs I wrote came from the heart, and I don’t really pay attention to what’s going on outside of what I’m doing. I just try to stick to what I know and what I love.”

“I can speak for everybody in saying we’ve all been through a breakup to where you didn’t want it to be over.”

“For now, yeah. Cutoff flannel and a mullet. That’s what I’m rolling with. If you see me onstage, that’s what it’s gonna be.” “I’m telling you, there are quite a few dudes at my shows that show up in mullets and cutoff flannels.”

Blake Shelton’s God’s Country is back at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Steaming Songs charts.

After 37 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart Luke Combs This One’s For You moves to #2.

Thomas Rhett takes over the #1 spot with the release of his new LP Center Point Road.

TR becomes the first country artist to hit #1 on the Artist 100 in 2019. Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean were the only country acts to top the chart in 2018.

Rhett also becomes the third country act to spend multiple weeks at #1 on the Artist 100. Joining Aldean three weeks and Florida Georgia Line two weeks.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Wallen says fans love Whiskey Glasses “It’s been absolutely insane to see people’s reaction to it.” “This song has undoubtedly taken over as the biggest song in my set. It’s been awesome to see, and I’m just so glad that people love it the way they love it. There’s a passion about this song that I’ve not ever experienced before.”

“I noticed weeks ago that this song was really important to people, and it was really special to them. And that right there was just enough for me to know that no matter what happens with this, I know that this song has made an impact on a lot of people.”

Luke Combs is bringing Morgan Wallen to Alberta for his Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour. Luke’s other special guests are Jameson Rodgers and DeeJay Silver.

No way to express in words what yesterday meant to me. Being invited to be the next member of the Grand Ole Opry is the highest honor in country music and something I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you to the @opry for believing in me and welcoming me, my band, and my team with open arms since day one. Thank you to my team for everything they do everyday to make things like this possible, and for helping surprise me with my parents showing up. Thank you to Craig, Chris, and John for being there and sharing that moment with me and last but certainly not least my amazing Fiancé @nicohocking for loving me and always standing by my side, it is truly amazing to get to experience these things with you. God bless the Opry and God bless country music. #211

The invitation to join the Opry came by surprise on Tuesday June 11th at the end of Luke’s Opry performance. Opry members Craig Morgan, John Conlee and Chris Janson were on hand to extend the invitation which caught him so much by surprise that he admits he was left unable to respond.

“You just never think it’s going to happen.” “When they asked, I literally couldn’t believe it. I didn’t even know what to say. There’s nothing to say but yes, and I didn’t even say yes. I just cried the whole time. Let me go on the record and say, Yes.”
