Jimmie Allen Makes More History Best Shot Three Weeks #1 on ACC with Kix Brooks

Jimmie Allen’s Best Shot is back in the #1 spot on ACC with Kix Brooks. American Country Countdown is on CISN Country 103.9 Edmonton and Country 105 Calgary Saturday’s 8am-Noon.

Jimmie Allen first moved to Nashville in 2007 and spent the better part of a decade trying to get signed. “At first, things weren’t going my way.

I was something new no one was going to take a chance on a black artist from Delaware so I lived in my car for four months, working in a gym where I would wash my clothes and shower.

I did any job you could think of, from waiter to janitor to personal trainer. I was one of those guys where nothing ever fell into my lap, I had to go out and work for it.”

I’m writing a book right now, actually, two books. I’ve got some movie stuff in the works. My booking agency wants me to write a quote book.

I have this stage play I started writing about a year-and-a-half ago. I’m not rushing the creative process on anything. I’m doing it all at once, but kind of letting each of them tell their own story.

Best Shot from Jimmie Allen has had a historic run on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart. It was written by Jimmie Allen with Josh London and JP Williams.

Jimmie Allen makes country music history by becoming only the second African-American artist to have a #1 with their debut single.

Darius Rucker hit #1 in 2008 with his country debut Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It.

Best Shot was #1 for two weeks, dropped to #2 last week and then jumped back into the #1 spot this week.

Best Shot is the first song by any artist to return #1 on Country Airplay Chart in over a decade.

Since Jimmy Wayne’s Do You Believe Me Now which first rose to the top on Sept 13th 2008. It revisited the top spot two weeks later after a week at #1 for Brad Paisley’s Waitin’ on a Woman.

Best Shot is the first single from Jimmie’s first LP Mercury Lane which was released Oct 12th 2018.

Mercury Lane was named after the street on which Jimmie grew up in Milton Delaware.

The songs on the LP serve as a letter to his 4-year-old son Aiden to help guide him through life.

“Seeing the resurgence of Best Shot is a testament to how great of a team I have,” Allen tells Billboard. “They have continued to fight for this song when so many others would have given up.”

“I am so thankful to country radio and its listeners for their support.” “Seeing Best Shot connect with the hearts of so many is evidence that we are a lot more alike than we are different.”
