The 3rd annual WineSpring Festival leaps into the spring season, Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7, and encourages festival goers to savour longer days and celebrate food, wine and wellness. WineSpring is an interactive, culinary-themed weekend taking place at the beautiful St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino in Cranbrook, BC, with packages for the festival and individual event tickets on sale now.
St. Eugene Resort has crafted an alluring schedule of events for WineSpring including exceptional dining experiences, wine-themed seminars, classes, tastings, and lively parties in a spirited setting. Friday night highlights include the exclusive plated “Okanagan Five” dinner in the Joseph Creek Pavilion, led by Executive Chef Aaron Day. Chef Day focuses on incorporating fresh quality ingredients with an emphasis on Indigenous fare and local suppliers. Following dinner, and back by popular demand, The Talbot Brothers will perform live to wrap up the evening.
Saturday‘s line-up of events includes a cooking class with Sage and Savor Executive Chef Stephen Gilmour where he will share preparations and techniques using his favourite secret ingredient, wine! In another seminar David Beaudoin, British Columbia’s Cheese Poet and Canadian Cheese Ambassador of Bothwell Cheese will lead guests on a journey to discover rare and delightful Canadian artisan cheeses paired with wines from Dirty Laundry.
That evening’s Main Wine Tasting Event is the crown jewel of WineSpring and will serve up all manner of delightful reds, whites, meads, and craft spirits from some of the finest wineries and vineyards in BC and beyond. Tasty bites including an incredible selection of Castello cheeses, produced by Arla Foods in Denmark and valued at over $10,000, that has been generously supplied by Gordon Food Services will offer the perfect cheese to pair with every single sip on offer.
Some of the wineries featured during WineSpring and Saturday’s Main Wine Tasting Event include Indigenous World, Red Bird Estate, Hester Creek, Hillside, St. Hubertus, Dirty Laundry, and Crescent Hill. Participants can look forward to swirling and sipping the first bottles of Creston-based Red Bird Estate Winery’s highly anticipated limited vintages. Guests will also have the opportunity to taste the fruit from the land that has supported the Syilx people for over 10,000 years in Indigenous World’s extensive offering of award-winning wines. In 2018 alone Indigenous World participated in five wine competitions from around the world and took home 25 medals.
