Joggin’ for a Noggin’ is a 5K/10k run and 1.4K trick or treat walk to raise money to send a child that has had brain or spinal surgery to camp.
Joggin for a Noggin is an annual fun run to raise money for sending children to summer camp who have had brain or spinal surgery. This run enables children with various neurosurgical conditions to attend Camp Everest South at Camp Horizon. It is an exceptional week where the children are able to make new friends, experience many adventures and feel like they belong. For many neurosurgical kids this is the only opportunity they have to attend a summer camp. As a nurse working at the Alberta Children’s Hospital I am constantly inspired by the children around me, they deal with their illness with grace and resilience and I know their struggles continue long after they leave the doors of our hospital. Many of these children have never had the opportunity to attend a summer camp due to their complex medical needs. Financial burdens that come with a medical diagnosis can be significant. We are hoping to be able to continue on with this summer opportunity with a goal of sending 40 children every year.
Joggin for a Noggin is a fun run – Kids and Adults can come in their Halloween Costume!!! The 1.4km walk will have candy stations so bring your loot bag for some fun treats!
